Ceiling Fans Installations
Ceiling Fans: There are many types of fans on the market from fairly simple to remote controlled. One of the main concerns with installation is whether the ceiling box is properly supported to handle the weight of these fixtures.
Another issue that can crop up is with fans that have a remote control feature. these have a receiver that has to fit into the ceiling box along with all the wires and in my experience it can be a very tight fit. These fan installs are not that easy especially on ceiling heights over eight feet.
If the box needs additional support it may require access to the attic or somehow into the ceiling space if on the main floor of a two story house. A special control switch may also have to be installed in place of the traditional light switch to allow for separate fan and light control.
